Crossmaglen twins and former Armagh county players, Tony and John McEntee expressed delight after it was revealed that their company will be the main sponsor of the 2011 Carrickmacross Lions Club Twin(s) + Parade.

Their company – Healthy Hearts Healthy Lives – will sponsor the showcase event which will take place on Saturday 4th June 2011 as part of the Carrickmacross Festival weekend.

The McEntees said, “Healthy Hearts Healthy Lives facilitates locally arranged cardiac screening clinics for those aged 14-35 throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland. It also aims to raise awareness of conditions that can lead to Sudden Death Syndrome. The primary focus is on screening people who wish to engage in sporting activities. However, the service is available to all who wish to undergo screening who are aged 14 years or older”.

The Crossmaglen twins are proud to be associated with the Carrickmacross Lions Club attempt to beat their own 2010 record which ‘twin-cluded’ 231 sets of twins gathered in the same place at the same time. This year’s parade has been expanded to include triplets, quads and other multiples and has been renamed the Twin(s) + Parade. All the proceeds of the Parade will go to support local charities.

Carrickmacross Lions Club President Michael Murphy stated that “this year we are highlighting the availability and importance of cardiac screening with our sponsors help and with support from John and Joan McGuinness from Newry, who tragically lost their son Oisin whilst playing football in 2009”.
